On Sridevi's 57th birth anniversary, Actor Janhvi Kapoor on Thursday shared a priceless throwback picture of herself along with her late mother and legendary star Sridevi. The black-and-white photo showed Janhvi with her arms around Sridevi, as they smiled for the camera. "I love you Mumma," the 'Dhadak' actor captioned the post. The 23-year-old actor's heart-touching post was flooded with comments as fans of the late icon pay tribute to her.
Sridevi died in February 2018 after accidentally drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai. She passed away just months before the release of Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak.
Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, she was known for her iconic roles in Hindi movies like 'Chandni', 'Lamhe', 'Mr India', 'Chaalbaaz', 'Nagina', 'Sadma' and 'English Vinglish' among many more.
The Padma Shri awardee had also made a mark with her extraordinary performances in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films.
Her last film was 'Mom', for which she also received Best Actress National Award, posthumously.
“Happy birthday to the Legend,” wrote Kartik Aaryan on Janhvi’s post. Many, including Zoya Akhtar, Bhumi Pednekar and Sanjay Kapoor, dropped heart emojis. Fans also showered love. “She must be so proud of you,” one Instagram user wrote. “Two beautifuls in single frame,” another commented.
Janhvi saw the release of her second feature film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, earlier this week. She played the titular role of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian Air Force woman pilot who conducted recce and rescue missions in the 1999 Kargil War.
