A day after reports surfaced that the late legendary actor Dev Anand's Juhu house had been sold for a whopping Rs 400 crore, with plans to replace it with a 22-storeyed tower, his nephew Ketan Anand has refuted these claims.
According to an ETimes report, Ketan Anand, the son of Dev Anand's brother Chetan Anand, has categorically denied these developments, asserting that no such deal was in progress or under negotiation.
He stated, "No, it's false news. I have checked with Devina (Dev Anand's daughter) and the family."
Earlier this week, it was widely reported that the iconic actor's bungalow had been sold to a real estate company for a staggering sum of Rs 400 crore. Furthermore, it was suggested that the bungalow would be demolished to make way for a brand-new 22-storeyed building.
Dev Anand's son, Suneil Anand, has relocated to the United States, while his wife, Kalpana Kartik, resides in Ooty with their daughter Devina. After Dev Anand's passing in 2011, there was no one to occupy or oversee the property. The late actor had reportedly constructed the house in 1950.
Dev Anand, revered as one of the greatest actors in the annals of Indian cinema, left an indelible mark with his stellar performances in numerous hit films, including "Guide," "Hare Rama Hare Krishna," and "Jewel Thief." He was renowned for his charismatic presence on-screen.
Tragically, Dev Anand passed away on December 3, 2011, in London, following a heart attack. He was 88 years old at the time of his demise, which occurred just two months after the release of his final film, "Chargesheet," a movie he both directed and produced.
