Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is in a jubilant mood, and there are ample reasons for the celebration. His most recent release, "Jawan," has achieved a remarkable feat by entering the coveted Rs 300 crore club in just five days. The film made a spectacular entrance at the box office and has already been bestowed with the status of a blockbuster, thanks to its exceptional daily earnings.
"Jawan" hit the theaters on September 7, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. It turned out to be a propitious day for the film and its entire team. With this achievement, SRK has reaffirmed why he is referred to as the King of Bollywood. What's intriguing is that "Jawan" is pitted against his own earlier release, "Pathaan," which graced the silver screen earlier in the year.
The spectacular journey of "Jawan" commenced with a staggering Rs 75 crore on its opening day, marking the grandest opening ever in the history of Indian cinema. On the second day, the film amassed Rs 51 crore, followed by a remarkable Rs 74.50 crore on the third day. Within a mere three days, "Jawan" etched its name in history as the first movie to join the prestigious Rs 200 crore club.
Despite a slight dip on Monday, with earnings of Rs 30 crore, the film effortlessly crossed the coveted Rs 300 crore milestone. Currently, "Jawan" has amassed a total collection of Rs 316.16 crore.
The fervor for "Jawan" was unparalleled as theaters across the nation witnessed packed houses throughout the weekend. Early morning shows, as early as 5 am, were organized in various parts of India, and fans queued up eagerly at ticket counters to secure their passes for this cinematic spectacle.
Directed by Atlee, "Jawan" marks SRK's debut collaboration with the director. It also showcases his first-time pairing with acclaimed actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The on-screen chemistry between SRK and Deepika Padukone has once again become the talk of the town, following her impactful cameo in the film. "Jawan" also boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureishi, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra.
