Salman Khan to replace Pakistani singer Atif Aslam in ‘Notebook’

Four days after Pulwama terror attack, India has taken severe actions in order to ensure that they cut all ties from Pakistan. While All Indian Cine Workers Association yesterday announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artists, netizens has decided to boycott Bhai’s upcoming production Notebook, as the film has songs sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam.

Apparently Notebook which stars Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal is a love story set in Kashmir. While Pakistani artists are banned in Bollywood from quite some time, Salman used to take Pakistani singers in his films such as Race 3 and Tiger Zinda Hai. However the way people have been bursting out of anger after the Pulwama attack, Salman has now got a whiff that this time he can’t escape without sacking the song which is sung by Atif Aslam in the film. In fact it is stated that the makers have already hired Indian singers to sing the songs originally sung by Atif.

Touted to be the deadliest terror attack on Indian army, on February 14, 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district. The attack resulted in the death of 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel and the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. A local youth named Adil Ahmed Dar was identified as the attacker.
