‘Jawan’: Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller becomes biggest Hindi opener of all time

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest action thriller film, 'Jawan,' has made a sensational start at the box office, marking its place in history. On its opening day, the movie grossed a staggering Rs 65.50 crores at the Indian box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the remarkable news, declaring, "'JAWAN' IS SENSATIONAL… CREATES HISTORY… #Jawan hits the ball out of the stadium, SHATTERS ALL PREVIOUS RECORDS… BIGGEST OPENER [#Hindi films] in #India… Day 1 biz…" The film's opening day collection of Rs 65.50 crores is 19.09% HIGHER than 'Pathaan,' which had earned Rs 55 crores on its opening day. It has now become the biggest Hindi opener film of all time.

'Jawan,' directed by Atlee, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, with Deepika Padukone making a guest appearance. The film received an overwhelming response from both the audience and critics alike.

Shah Rukh Khan went all out for the film's promotional events, attending significant pre-release functions in Chennai and even having the 'Jawan' trailer displayed on the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai. He also visited the revered shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and sought blessings at the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Tirupati, accompanied by his daughter Suhana and manager Pooja Dadlani. Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan also joined the temple visit.

Fans celebrated the film's release as a festival, with dhols, cake-cutting, fireworks, and more.

Delighted by the overwhelming response to 'Jawan,' Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude on social media, promising to acknowledge the love from fans and fan clubs once he catches his breath. He said, "Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving #Jawan."

On the release day, theaters were jam-packed from morning, with some fans even attending the first-day-first-show at Mumbai's iconic Gaiety Galaxy theater at 6 am. Shah Rukh Khan, appreciating their enthusiasm, replied to a fan's tweet, expressing his love and gratitude for their unwavering support.

Apart from 'Jawan,' Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film, 'Dunki,' directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Taapsee Pannu. The official release date for 'Dunki' is yet to be announced.
