Sonu Sood Goes Royal In This FIRST LOOK Of Manikarnika

Just a day ago, we had reported that Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi will be releasing next year. And today, there has been another update on that front! We got our FIRST look of Sonu Sood, who plays the role of Sadashiv Narain Rao from the Kangana Ranaut starrer.

We must say that Sonu Sood is looking quite royal in this look from the historical drama. Although not many details about his character have been divulged, tale has it that Sadashiv Narain Rao had once claimed that he was the king of Jhansi and was later captured by Rani Laxmibai. But it is yet to be seen if the role of Sonu will resemble the said tale.

On the other hand, speaking of Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana Ranaut will be playing the titular character of Rani Laxmibai. Several looks of the actress, ranging from her warrior queen look to her royal look, most of them from the sets of the film have done the rounds of the internet by far. The actress, who kicked off the shoot of the film, earlier this year, will be playing such a role for the first time in her acting career.

Besides her, Manikarnika also marks the Bollywood debut of TV actress Ankita Lokhande. The actress, who rose to fame with the TV series Pavitra Rishta, was the former girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput. Ankita is expected to play Jhalkarbai, who was one of the closest associates of Rani Laxmibai and has helped her in many of her endeavors.

Written by Bahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi traces the journey of Rani Laxmibai that also discusses her sharp mind and valour with which she put up one of the bravest fights against the British army in India. Directed by Krish, the film is slated to release on January 25.
