Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness caused by a virus known as DENV-1. This virus is spread by female Anopheles mosquito. The virus gets transmitted into the body by a bite; generally, it takes 3 to 10 days for a symptom to occur. The main ill effect that is caused due to dengue fever is the decrease of platelets counts in the blood.
