* Have a healthy weight gain
Gaining weight in pregnancy is very normal and it is good for your baby’s growth. It is best to gain weight within the range of your body size. Going overweight and believing that eating more will help you manage your pregnancy better is not right. You should ask your doctor what should be your healthy weight for your pregnancy and maintain it.
* Have variety of foods in your diet
You must know what makes your food plate balanced, healthy and fulfilling. There is so much variety food offers you when you want to eat healthy vitamins, carbs and protein. You can eat carbs in the form of fruits, veggies, grains and dairy products. You can have protein from dairy items or meat (mainly fish). Fats are also important to some level. You can take fats from vegetable oil, nuts and avocado.
* Have small meals throughout the day
While you are pregnant, you need to eat every 3 to 4 hours throughout the day as your baby is in continuous development. You must have something healthy to eat like fruits, juices, salad and milk to provide you energy during the day. This way your blood sugar levels will also remain stable. If you will eat in intervals throughout the day you will be able to avoid food cravings and digestive issues. Make sure to have breakfast early morning and have snacks if you eat meals with a difference of 5-6 hours.
* Keep a track of the nutrients you need

* Plan your meals
When you plan your meals, it helps you to stick to healthy eating habits. It also saves the money you spend on expensive dine outs. So, it is best to schedule your meals in a calendar and go for a light walk after dinner. This will help you maintain your weight and make you strong for labor and delivery period.
