Adolescence or teenage is the phase where you can mould yourself for the rest of your life. The habits you form during this phase stay with you for the rest of your life. So naturally, it becomes important that you follow healthy lifestyle and habits that keep you healthy, wealthy and wise. Leading a healthy lifestyle in your teenage years will reward you with several benefits, such as reduced stress levels, improved creativity and fewer diseases.
# Eat Healthy
Eating healthy and right is very important for teenagers as they are at a developing age. During teenage, the body goes through various physical and psychological changes, so it becomes important to nourish your body and mind with the right food. Including fruits and vegetables in your diet will benefit you. Include nuts, fibre and protein sources in your diet and avoid sugary and processed food. Your body is dependent on you and you must take care of it,good health is crucial as it protects you against many chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
# Exercise
Staying physically active and exercising regularly will help to keep you fit and save you from getting obese In your teenage years. Exercising regularly can not only benefit your body but it can also lift up your mood as exercising releases happy hormones in your body. Adopting regular workout as a part of your lifestyle will reap you multiple benefits and save you from unwanted diseases while keeping your heart health in good condition. Moving your body regularly and engaging in physical activity improves your muscle strength and boosts your endurance. Whilst you’re engaged in exercise, it delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system in working more efficiently.
# Get Enough Sleep
Teenagers must get an ample amount of sleep which may range from anywhere between 9 to 11 hours. Getting enough sleep every night increases your concentration power, decreases stress and anxiety which is caused by sleep deficiency. Going to bed early and waking up early is an excellent habit that can benefit you in the long run. When you sleep and take proper rest it allows your body and mind to recharge which leaves you feeling refreshed when you wake up. If you get healthy sleep your body remains healthy and fights off diseases and sleep is important in order to make the brain function properly.
# Read
There’s a quote which says-“If you want to be powerful in life then educate yourself”. Read, Read, and Read some more. There is a plethora of knowledge that exists in this world and the most excellent way to gain that knowledge is to read books . Teenagers can read about their subjects of interest or about anything that may provoke their curiosity. The more you will feed your mind with useful knowledge, the more it will benefit you in life. If books do not appeal to you, one can always read online. It’s better than spending hours and hours on playing video games and procrastinating on the couch.
# Stay Hydrated
Our body is made up of water and it needs water to function properly. Drinking water may seem like a common activity but often teenagers forget to drink the required amount of water. Staying hydrated can give you a glowing skin, healthy body and keep you from dehydration. Make it a habit to drink 3 to 4 litres of water throughout the day.
Drinking enough water works in favour of your body as it helps in regulating body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly.
# Socialize
Socializing is good for your mind and body. Socializing not only eradicates feelings of loneliness, but also it helps sharpen memory and cognitive skills, increases your sense of happiness and well-being, and should even assist you live longer. Meeting personally is best, but connecting via technology also works.
