Heat strokes are a really big problem which can also cause life-threatening conditions. Some of the most common symptoms of heat stroke can be headaches, nausea, vomiting, flushed skin, dizziness and weakness, abdominal cramps, muscle cramps and even sweating too much or too little.

* Buttermilk
Buttermilk is one of the most commonly used remedy against the effects of heat stroke. Blend 2 tablespoons of curd in 1 glass of water. Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of cumin powder into the mix. You can also tear a couple of curry leaves and coriander leaves and add to the mix for a richer flavour. This refreshing drink hydrates and cools the body as water is the main component. It also has proteins, probiotics, vitamins, and minerals that replenish the body.
* Cold bath
This is an effective first-aid remedy.Soak in a bathtub full of cold water for 15-20 minutes.This treatment is recommended in the case of heat stroke due to exertion. This will help lower the body temperature.
* Moong juice
Boil 1 cup of moong beans in 3 cups of water. Strain the liquid and drink after it has cooled down. Moong beans are effective for treating heat strokes. They hydrate the body and lower the body’s temperature.
* Tamarind juice
Tamarind is good at supplying essential electrolytes and nutrients that have been depleted due to dehydration. You can make tamarind juice by boiling the tamarind pulp from a few pieces, addhoney or sugar to the liquid after straining, and drink after it has cooled down. You can consume it as soon as the symptoms appear.
* Onion juice
You can apply the juice after the occurrence of the stroke, and drink a honey-onion mix twice a day for a few days after the incident.After a heat stroke attack, apply the juice behind the ears, on your chest, and under the feet. Leave it on. Or after the symptoms are gone, drink a teaspoon of onion juice mixed with some honey.
* Coriander water
Coriander can make an excellent beverage to counter the effects of a heat stroke. Blend the leaves with some water and extract the coriander juice. Add some sugar and mix well. Cool the water in the refrigerator for a few minutes and then drink.Coriander removes excess heat from the body and gets rid of vomiting and nausea while cooling the body.
* Sandalwood paste
Make a thin paste by mixing 3-4 tablespoons of sandalwood powder with water. Apply it on your chest and forehead and leave it for about an hour. Applying this once will reduce the symptoms of heat strokes and also soothes the skin.
* Apple cider vinegar
If you are feeling weak and dizzy from after a long time spent in the sun, try this juice made of the good old apple cider vinegar. Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of cool water to make a refreshing juice. The juice has vitamins and minerals that help to replenish the electrolytes in the body.
* Plums
Soak some plums in water until they are soft. Mash them into the water and strain. This drink can be consumed as a remedy for heat stroke. Plums are a really great source of antioxidants and are good at hydrating.
