The cold weather brings many problems for children. In this season, children often face a number of health problems including sore throat, common cold, flu, pneumonia, stomach flu, ear infections, skin problems and asthma. Although cold winds are not fully responsible for these problems. In most cases, children's catering is equally responsible. If your child also faces this type of problem often or if your child falls sick again and again in this season, then it is important that you pay adequate attention to his diet as well. There are many food items that should be avoided in this season. So, in this article today, we are telling you about the list of similar food items that you should not give to children in cold weather
Salty & Oily Foods
Fat and oil from animal products can often cause thickening of mucus and saliva. Due to which children can have a lot of trouble in cough and cold. Therefore it is better to avoid oily foods in winter season. If you are cooking food then in this season you should use vegetable oil instead of animal oil.
Candies
Children love candies, but whatever the season, the simple sugar from these candies causes harm to children. Too much sugar in the body can reduce white blood cells. These white blood cells protect us from infections and diseases. In this way, consuming too much sugar increases the risk of viral and bacterial infections of children. Therefore, it is better to avoid giving soda, cold drinks, candy, chocolate, processed foods, and a lot of refined breakfast cereals, etc. during this season.
Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise has a great taste and is liked by children. Not only this, it contains histamine, which helps the body fight allergies. But if histamine rich foods are eaten during the cold season, it causes excessive mucus formation and can cause throat problems. In such a situation, you should keep mayonnaise and other histamine-rich foods like pickles, fermented food and artificial preservatives etc. out of the children's diet.
Dairy product
You may find it strange to hear, but in this season, dairy products can also adversely affect the health of the child. All animal proteins thicken saliva and mucus, making it difficult for children to swallow. Therefore, avoid serving cheese, cream and cream-based soups. Especially, when they have mucus in the chest or complain of cough and cold.
Meat
Meat is rich in protein, so it is considered good for health. But it promotes the production of mucus, which can cause throat irritation. So if you want to feed your children meat, then choose fish and organic meat for them.
Sugary foods
Simple sugar in general, is bad for kids. Too much sugar can reduce white blood cells, which increases the risk of developing infections and other related diseases.Sodas, chemical beverages, candies, chocolate, cold drinks, and other processed foods are some of the foods you should avoid.
Histamine rich foods
Histamine is a chemical involved in the making and secreting stomach acid. However, eating a histamine rich diet in winters can have a negative impact as it can induce the production of mucus, which can lead to health problems and can even make it difficult for your kid to swallow food.
