Fatty liver, also known as hepatic steatosis, is a condition characterized by the accumulation of excess fat in the liver cells. The liver normally contains some fat, but when fat makes up more than 5-10% of the liver's weight, it is considered fatty liver disease. There are two primary types of fatty liver disease:
