A ketogenic diet requires one to get rid of any carbohydrate intake. This kind of diet has proven effective in helping one shed weight at a lightning fast pace. A lot of obese individuals resort to this diet plan. While on this diet, a person ends up throwing excess fat out of their body through their urine. However, let’s find out about the five biggest mistakes to avoid following this type of diet.
* Rushing Into The Adaption Stage
What one needs to understand that the body takes time to adapt to a change in its daily diet. A sudden redaction of carbohydrates from your diet sends it into a state of ketosis which takes time to get used to. Many people get impatient and tend to give up on their diet. Do not do this and give your body time to get used to the change.
* Insufficient Intake Of Fats
While your body is deprived of carbohydrates, it is important to provide it with other necessary nutrients. Healthy fats are essential for the body to stay fit. Consume food which is high in fat. This does not mean that you should consume junk. You could always apply ghee on your chapatti, cook in a little extra amount of oil etc.
* Unnecessary Consumption Of Protein
A balanced amount of protein consumption is needed but overeating protein is just going to raise the heat in your body leading to acidity and inflammation. This might also cause your skin to breakout.
* Eating Hidden Carbs
You are already eating an increased amount of carbohydrates that leads to a substantial amount of calorie consumption. You cannot afford to eat even a little amount of extra carbohydrates as that would increase your calorie content. This is the last thing you need.
* Ignoring Electrolytes
Electrolytes like sodium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous end up rendering to the effectiveness of your diet. They balance the salt levels in your body and prevent the production of kidney stones. They also keep the sugar levels from rising out of control. Avocados, almonds etc are a great source of electrolytes. These keep you active and improve your immunity as well as resistance power against diseases.
