6 Yoga Poses That Will Help You Get Relief From Constipation

Constipation is a common digestive issue that affects people of all ages. It refers to a condition in which bowel movements become infrequent or difficult to pass, often resulting in discomfort and abdominal pain. While occasional bouts of constipation are normal, chronic or recurring constipation can significantly impact a person's quality of life.
This condition occurs when stool moves too slowly through the digestive tract, causing excessive water absorption from the stool and making it hard and dry. As a result, individuals experiencing constipation may have difficulty passing stool, experience straining during bowel movements, and often feel a sense of incomplete evacuation.
There are various potential causes of constipation, including a low-fiber diet, inadequate fluid intake, lack of physical activity, certain medications, underlying medical conditions (such as irritable bowel syndrome, thyroid disorders, or neurological conditions), and even psychological factors like stress.
Managing and preventing constipation usually involves adopting lifestyle changes such as increasing dietary fiber intake, drinking enough water, engaging in regular exercise, and establishing a consistent bowel routine. Over-the-counter laxatives or prescribed medications might be recommended by medical professionals in more severe cases.
# Wind-Relieving Pose (Pavanamuktasana)
Pavanamuktasana, also known as the Wind-Relieving Pose, is an excellent asana for relieving bloating and gas, common symptoms associated with constipation. Lie on your back, hug your knees to your chest, and gently rock side to side. This pose massages the abdominal organs, stimulating digestion, and helps release trapped gases, promoting bowel movements.
# Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana)
