* Candolim Beach, Goa

You cannot mention the top beaches in India without adding Goa in the list. Out of the sheer variety of beaches, Candolim beach always stands out. Bordering the Arabian Sea in Northern Goa, hundreds of foreign and Indian tourists visit this beach every day.Beautiful dune crests fill the beach. There’s plenty of accommodation available nearby. At the onset of dawn, a lot of water sports begin here including paragliding, bump rides and surfing. You can lie down on the beach chairs and relax while taking in some healthy dose of vitamin D and listening to the soothing sound of the waves.There are many shops near the beach where you can get some beautiful local handcrafted items and take them back as souvenirs. There are also a number cafes here where you can eat delicious local cuisines. Plus, there are many places to visit nearby. With all of these perks, this should be your go-to beach.

* Kovalam Beach, Kerala

Kerala is known as God’s country. Since I am originally from Kerala, I can assure you that the former statement is true. Kerala can cure you of anything. Its natural beauty is breathtaking. Thousands of foreign tourists visit Kerala every year.Kovalam Beach is located 16 kilometres from Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. The beach is pristine. There is a lighthouse in the beach and honestly, where do you see that kind of beaches anymore?You can swim in its crystal clear water and it’s the perfect place for sunbathing. Also, there are many Ayurvedic resorts near Kovalam which are mandatory for you to visit because trust me, you will not regret it ever.There are many small cottages nearby. There are also hotels ranging from the budget as well as the five-star. There is also a handicraft emporium close by where you can shop lots of ethnic stuff. A must-visit beach for a serene and rejuvenating getaway.

* Querim Beach, Goa

Unlike the hippie atmosphere you find in the Candolim Beach, Querim Beach is silent and peaceful.Located in North Goa, this beach is near Anjuna Beach. The beach is quite secluded, but that does not mean that it is unsafe. There are guards by the entrance who are always on alert, and therefore you can be assured that no danger befalls you here. There are not many cafes here, so it is preferable that you bring your food and drinks.Trees and vegetation surround the entire area. You can reach here by renting a two-wheeler. The beach is ideal for anyone wanting peace of mind which as a matter of fact, is quite unlikely in Goa because there are always tourists around.The cool breeze, the sound of waves, the sand and clear water, surrounding greenery and calm will make you never want to leave Querim Beach.

* Kanyakumari Beach, Tamil Nadu

I honestly cannot say that you can come here in search of peace or tranquillity because that is quite the opposite of what you will get. You will also probably not see this on the recommended list of beaches but it’s one of my personal favourites. It is not as if this is not a tourist attraction though.Thousands of visitors come here every day to watch the infamous Kanyakumari sunrise and sunset which is a breathtakingly beautiful sight, and I have witnessed it.It is the southernmost end of our country. All the three seas that surround India meet here.There are an uncountable number of small stalls spanning the beach where shells of all sizes and shapes, shell bracelets, necklaces, etc are sold. Also, when you come here, don’t forget to visit the Vivekananda Memorial Rock.

* Radhanagar Beach, Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Just because Andaman and Nicobar Islands is not in the same landmass of India, does not make it any lesser a part of our country. The group of islands belong to India and have all the right to be the number one in your list of places to visit.Radhanagar Beach is a small piece of paradise in the Havelock Island of Andaman.
