7 Species Of Python Found Across The World

There are so many different species of pythons found in the world such as Python kyaiktiyo found in Myanmar,ball python from grasslands of Africa, black-headed python,Children’s python,jungle carpet python, Water python and Stimson’s python.
Southeast Asia and India is only home to three world’s largest species of python including Burmese python and Rock python.
# Reticulated python
Reticulated python is the largest species of python snake found in the world, followed by Burmese python, African rock python, Indian python, and amethystine python.
Like all pythons found in the world, reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) is also a non-venomous constrictor and among the three heaviest snakes as well as listed as world’s longest snake – 25.2 ft, reticulated python is among the few snakes that prey on humans along with green anaconda, Burmese python and African rock python.
# Burmese python
Burmese python is second largest species of python snakes (16 ft) in the world followed by giant African rock python, occurs throughout Southeast Asia including eastern India near marshes and swamps.
The nocturnal rainforest dwellers Burmese python is a protected species and popular as pet with so many coloring and pattern like Caramel, yellow, orange, khaki-colored and white.
# African Rock python
African rock python is native to sub-Saharan Africa and one of the large 11 living species in the genus Python found in the world. The rock python is Africa’s largest and biggest snake and also one of the 5 largest python species in the world by length with adult measures 9 ft 10 in to 11 ft 7 in in total length.
# Indian Rock python
Indian python is native to tropical regions of the Indian subcontinent and also known by the common names such as Indian rock python, Python molurus and ajgar. Python molurus lives in a wide range of habitats, near a permanent source of water and typically grows to 3 m or 10.8 ft.
# Amethystine python
Amethystine python species is found in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Australia, Listed as one of the top six largest snakes in the world by length and size also largest native snake of Australia. The amethystine python (Simalia amethistina) noted for its coloration and very popular among reptile enthusiasts.
# Australian scrub python
Australian scrub python is the longest and largest snake in Australia, The arboreal and tree-dwelling snake is found in many different natural variation. Morelia kinghorni is the largest Australian snake found in northern Queensland.
# Olive python
Olive python species of snake is also endemic to Australia and listed as second-largest snake species of Australia, second to scrub python. Liasis olivaceus found in rocky areas, gorges and especially areas near sources of water and occasionally confused with the venomous king brown snake.
