According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha was also named as ‘Modapriya’ for his immense love for modaks and it was believed to be his favorite food. In fact, it is believed that offering 21 modaks as bhog can satisfy Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva at the same time. It was believed that Lord Shiva suggested giving her some puffed rice with devotion. It was believed that soon after this his hunger was quenched. This is the reason why Murmura jaggery laddus are prepared and offered as bhog to Lord Ganesha.
# Kheer
Kheer is considered to be God’s favorite food and that is why kheer is the quintessential part of almost every Indian festival. On the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi, various types of kheer recipes are prepared from milk like Basundi, Pala Thalikalu, Pala Underallu etc.
# Banana
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a garland made of banana is offered to Lord Ganapati. This is because Lord Ganesha is very fond of bananas and according to Bengali traditions he is married to Kola Bou (Banana Tree). This is the reason why Ganesh Puja is incomplete without bananas.
