There is a small country in West Africa, Benin. African black magic Voodoo started from here right now. Benin has a secret society called Gungan. Its members are called 'Jinda ghost'.
It is believed that if egungun touches any other person, then that person will die immediately, and egungun will also die.
Egungun also wears a lot of colorful clothes with a cloak. They cover their faces, so that their identity is hidden.
The main task of Gungun is to recite the decision in the disputes between the villagers. It is believed that the dead ancestors are 'coming' and giving their opinions through them. Therefore the decision of Gungun is considered to be the message of God and the last.
To solve any dispute, more than one Egugun sits. They speak very loud and vague words.
Some Minders, i.e. warners along with Egungan, also go. They are also members of their society. They stick in their hands. Since it is believed that both of the person and Egungun both die due to touching with Egungan, so they make a certain distance between the Mindar people and Egungun. Even if egungun sit and rest somewhere, the Minders keep on guard.
There are also people who play drums with their group. IGungan also dances on drum drum.
Egungun never knows his real identity. The fear of death by the touch of Egungun is so deep that people are in panic even if they are unknowingly touched.
