# Kingston

Kingston is the largest city on the island and also the capital of the country. Population density is high as around half of the country’s population lives in this city. In the 16th century in 1692, the city was formed after its old city of Port Royal was destroyed in an earthquake. Its position has changed from time to time as it had become the political capital of the country in 1872. Kingston has suffered many losses in the past and was almost destroyed by a devastating fire and an earthquake in 1907. # Negril
