Holi gets everyone excited, from young to old. We all look forward to bright gulal colors, water balloons, sumptuous food and family time filled with madness. But, the madness wears out, comes the biggest challenge, a completely messed up home. Imagine the color stains across floors, furniture and upholstery.
* Floor stains
While dry colours on the floor can be removed by sweeping the floor, the actual problem is coloured water that leaves permanent stains, especially if you have tiled flooring. Use a tissue or old newspaper to dab up the water. Prepare a paste of baking soda and some water, pour it over the stain and let it dry. Wipe it off later using a wet rag.
* Furniture
Wet a small cotton ball in acetone for cleaning the stain on furniture especially wooden furniture.
* Upholstery
Cleaning stains on curtains, cushions or other upholstery can be really challenging. Wet upholstery could be an invitation for fungus and mould. Let the material soak in water with white vinegar or lemon juice, leave it for 15 minutes and wipe off the area with a cotton ball.
* Glass surfaces
Use a solution of water and baking soda to wipe off stains over glass surfaces.
