Ingredients of Lucknow Seekh Hot Dog
500 grams minced chicken
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
Salt to taste
Oil for grilling
How to Make Lucknow Seekh Hot Dog
Step 1:
Start by placing the minced chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add the finely chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, and mint leaves to the chicken. Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.
Step 2:
Next, add the garam masala powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and turmeric powder to the mixture. Stir well to evenly distribute the spices. Pour in the lemon juice and lightly beaten egg, mixing again to incorporate them into the chicken mixture.
Step 3:
Sprinkle the gram flour over the mixture and add salt to taste. Using your hands, knead the mixture well until it becomes smooth and all the ingredients are well blended. This also helps in binding the kebabs.
Step 4:
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour. This helps the flavors to meld together and makes the mixture easier to handle when forming the kebabs.
Step 5:
After marinating, take a small portion of the mixture and shape it around a skewer to form a cylindrical kebab. Repeat this process with the remaining mixture.
Step 6:
Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat and brush it lightly with oil. Place the skewers on the grill and cook the kebabs, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
Step 7:
Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh coriander and mint leaves, and serve the Lucknowi chicken seekh kebabs hot with mint chutney and a side of fresh salad or naan for a delightful meal.
