Monsoon Recipe- Enjoy The Rains With Hot Kanda Bhaji

Sliced onions and gram flour are combined in the best way to make super crispy onion pakodas that belong to the state of Maharashtra and are call kanda bhaji. The recipe shares necessary tips and tricks to ensure that onion pakodas are absolutely crispy. These are best paired with cutting chai.

Ingredients

2 medium-sized onions thinly sliced
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 green chillies cut lengthwise
¼ cup gram flour (besan)
Pinch of baking soda
1 tsp hot oil
Oil for frying

Method

* In a mix bowl put 2 sliced onions, salt to tasty, 1 tsp red chili powder and ¼ tsp turmeric powder.

* Mix everything very well using your fingers.

* Leave it for 15 minutes.

* After 15 minutes add gram flour, upto ¼ cup but 1 tbsp at a time.

* Again get your fingers into it and mix. Simultaneously heat enough oil.

* Take a tbsp of hot oil and add it to the batter.

* Add in a pinch of baking soda, I have used eno.

* Wet your fingers.

* Take portion of batter on your fingers.

* Put in hot oil.

* Fry on medium flame till golden brown. Take out on an absorbent paper.

* Bon appétit.
