With a simple list of ingredients and a short preparation time, you can indulge in a mouthwatering cake that will impress your taste buds and leave you wanting more. Let's dive into the recipe and discover how to create this scrumptious treat in no time at all.
Preparation Time:
Approximately 20 minutes (excluding chilling time)
Ingredients
2 packets of Marie biscuits (about 300 grams)
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Shredded coconut or chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Method
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it comes to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low.
- Add the sugar, unsalted butter, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to the saucepan. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth and well combined. Remove from heat.
- Take a rectangular or square baking dish and line it with parchment paper or plastic wrap for easy removal of the cake later.
- Dip each Marie biscuit into the milk mixture for a few seconds, ensuring it is evenly coated. Arrange the dipped biscuits in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Continue layering the dipped biscuits until you have used half of the biscuits. Smooth a layer of the milk mixture over the biscuits.
- Repeat the process with the remaining biscuits, creating another layer of dipped biscuits followed by a layer of the milk mixture.
- Finish the cake with a final layer of the milk mixture, ensuring all the biscuits are well coated.
- Sprinkle shredded coconut or chocolate shavings on top of the cake for added flavor and decoration (optional).
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, allowing the cake to set.
- Once chilled, remove the cake from the baking dish by lifting the parchment paper or plastic wrap. Slice and serve this delightful Marie Biscuit Cake to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Note: You can get creative with the toppings by adding whipped cream, fresh fruits, or sprinkles according to your preference.
