1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, pureed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 cup fresh cream
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
How to make Mughlai Fish Curry
Step 1:
To begin, marinate 500 grams of cod fish fillets, cut into pieces, with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste, 1 teaspoon each of turmeric powder and red chili powder, and salt to taste. Allow the fish to marinate for 15-20 minutes. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated fish pieces until they turn golden brown on both sides, then set them aside.
Step 2:
In the same pan, add a bit more oil if necessary, and temper with 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds. Sauté finely chopped onions until they become golden brown. Add 2 pureed tomatoes, along with 1 teaspoon of coriander powder and 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala. Cook until the masala begins to release oil. Adjust the consistency with water as needed, then bring it to a boil and simmer. Stir in 1/2 cup of fresh cream and gently add the fried fish pieces back into the curry. Allow it to simmer for another 5-7 minutes to blend the flavors.
Step 3:
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or paratha. This Mughlai Fish Curry promises a delightful culinary experience with its aromatic spices and creamy texture.
