Wine cake, a delightful fusion of rich flavors and moist texture, is a dessert that captures the essence of indulgence. Infused with the deep notes of your favorite red wine, this cake elevates any occasion. The best part? It's surprisingly easy to make, and the preparation time won't keep you waiting long. In this article, we will guide you through a simple yet exquisite recipe for a wine cake that will leave your taste buds longing for more.
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups your favorite red wine
Preparation Time:
Approximately 15 minutes for preparation, 1 hour for baking.
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch bundt cake pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients together until they are well combined and aerated.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend the ingredients until you have a smooth batter.
- Gradually pour in the red wine while mixing the batter. The wine will add a luxurious richness to the cake. Mix until all the ingredients are fully incorporated and the batter is velvety.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Smooth the top with a spatula to ensure an even surface. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, gently transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely. Allow it to cool for another 30 minutes before slicing.
