Recipe- Healthy and Yummy Wheat Pancakes

Pancakes should be cooked on a flat surface over medium high heat. When bubbles start to form on the top and the edges start to lose their shine, you’ll know it is time to flip. Your pancake should be golden brown on each side.Blueberries or chocolate chips can be folded into the pancake batter, or you can add them in after you scoop the batter onto a griddle to form designs or patterns. Use up to 1/2 cup of either blueberries or semi-sweet chocolate chips in this recipe.

Ingredients

1½ cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cup milk or buttermilk
2 tablespoons honey
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
2 large eggs

Method

* In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

* Whisk in buttermilk, honey, applesauce, and eggs just until combined.

* Preheat a flat griddle over medium-high heat.

* Scoop ¼ cup of pancake batter onto griddle.

* Let pancakes cook until bubbles form before flipping.

* Cook other side until golden brown. Serve hot.
