Recipe- Hyderabadi Style Chicken Dum Biryani

Biryani is very close to my heart and this is the recipe which I often made in my home.The Chicken Dum Biryani which I am sharing today is a very delicious recipe. This Easy Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani is an absolutely stunning dish and must be included in the repertoire of any Indian food enthusiast!

Ingredients

For Marinating Chicken


750 gm Chicken
50 gm Biryani Masala With Salt to taste
2 Tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
1 Tbsp Mint Leaves Chopped
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tbsp Lime Juice
1 Tbsp Oil
3-4 Tbsp Brown Onion
2-3 Tbsp Curd
2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

For Rice

1.5 Cup Rice
3 pcs Green Chilli
3 pcs Bay leaf
4 pcs Green Cardamom
2 pcs Star Anise
6-7 pcs Cloves
6-7 pcs Black Pepper
A inch Mace
A inch Cinnamon Stick
1 Tbsp Sahi Jeera
1 Tbsp Mint Leaves Chopped
2 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
Water For Boiling Rice

For Layering

2-3 Tbsp Brown Onion
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 Tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
1 Tbsp Mint Leaves Chopped
A Pinch Saffron Added in 1/2 cup of warm milk
1 Tbsp Kewra Essence
2-3 Tbsp Ghee
2-3 Tbsp Water
Chappati Dough for sealing

Method

For Marinating Chicken


* Wash clean and slit the chicken. Add Biryani Masala.

* Add turmeric powder, brown onions, curd , 1 tbsp mint leaves , 1 tbsp coriander leaves , lime juice and 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste. Cover and marinate overnight or upto 8 hours.

Cooking Rice

* Heat sufficient water in a pan . when water starts boiling add all the dry spices, green chilli, mint leaves, salt, oil and rice.

* Cook rice until its 3/4 th done.Strain and keep aside.

For layering Biryani

* Take a kadhai or big pan, place the marinated chicken at the bottom.

* Now cover the chicken with rice.

* Spread some brown onions, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves & mint leaves.

* Sprinkle saffron milk, kevra essence and ghee.

* Sprinkle some water. Cover the kadhai with lid and sealed the kadhai with chappati dough.

* Put the kadhai on high flame for 5 minutes than on medium flame , dum the biryani for 20- 25minutes.

* Serve Hot Hyderabadi Dum Biryani with Burani.
