Recipe- Pepperoni Pizza Fries With Homemade Pizza Sauce

Pepperoni Pizza Fries loaded with homemade pizza sauce, stretchy mozzarella and tasty cheddar. Serve them for dinner, as a game day or party food. You won't believe how fast they disappear.

One way to bribe your kids to do the washing up?

Offer them pizza fries.

I am not above using bribery where it's in my own interest every now and then. I even managed to get some greenery in there (doesn't it look pretty) and it all went. Who doesn't love pea shoots covered in pizza sauce!

I made these as part of a batch of recipes recently, and we had family round for what we call blogger buffet. It basically consists of everything that I've tested that day, and more often than not, those dishes do not go together.

Ingredients

5 medium-sized red-skinned potatoes - cut into 1 ½ cm thick chips/fries (no need to peel) - I use a crinkle cutter (<--affiliate link)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup (120ml) passata
2 tbsp tomato puree/paste
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp dried thyme
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
3/4 cup (75g) cheddar cheese - ,grated
1/2 red bell pepper - chopped
1/2 green bell pepper - chopped
15 slices pepperoni
1 cup (100g) mozzarella cheese (the ball version, not the shredded stuff) - torn into chunks
1 cup (20g) pea shoots
Small punch fresh parsley - finely chopped

Method

* Preheat the oven to 200C/400F.

* Place the sliced potatoes onto two baking trays(*Note) and sprinkle on the salt, pepper and paprika.

* Drizzle on the oil and toss everything together with your hands.

* Place in the oven to cook for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden brown.

* Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix the passata, tomato puree, all but a pinch of the oregano, thyme, garlic powder and onion powder.

* Remove the fries from the oven and pile them all up onto one tray.

* Drizzle the sauce over the top and sprinkle on the reserved pinch of oregano.

* Top the sauce with the cheddar and the red and green peppers. Place back in the oven for five minutes to melt the cheese.

* Top with the pepperoni slices and scatter on the chunks of mozzarella and place back in the oven for another five minutes, until the pepperoni is lightly cooked and the mozzarella has melted

* Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the peashoots and chopped parsley before serving.
