Dahi Papdi Chaat is a popular Indian street food that is loved by many. It is a delicious and refreshing snack that is made with crispy fried papdis (crackers), a creamy and tangy yogurt sauce (dahi), and a variety of flavorful spices and chutneys. The dish is typically garnished with chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and sev (crispy chickpea noodles) to add texture and crunch. Dahi Papdi Chaat is a perfect combination of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors that create a burst of flavors in your mouth. This dish is commonly enjoyed as a mid-day snack or as an appetizer before a meal.
Ingredients
20-25 papdis
1 cup plain yogurt (dahi)
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup sweet chutney (tamarind/date chutney)
1/4 cup green chutney (coriander/mint chutney)
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
1/4 cup sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
Method
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add salt, red chili powder, and roasted cumin powder to the yogurt and mix well. Keep the yogurt mixture aside.
- Arrange the papdis on a serving plate.
- Spread the sweet chutney and green chutney evenly over the papdis.
- Pour the yogurt mixture over the papdis, covering them completely.
- Sprinkle chopped onions and tomatoes over the yogurt.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sev.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Dahi Papdi Chaat!
