Recipe- Running Short on Time, Try These Peppermint Bark as Little Gifts

Peppermint is synonyms with holidays and the easiest treat you can make this holiday season has to be the peppermint bark. I am not sure if this even qualifies as a recipe just because it’s so easy. Basically you are not creating anything from scratch but simply using already available products to form these barks. It’s super simple, super quick and you can pack and gift them as little gifts to your friends. If you are running short of time and don’t know what to make at the last moment, makes these peppermint bark.

To make these all you need to do is melt some white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate and then layer them in a pan and top with crushed peppermint candy. It’s that simple. The important thing here is to use a good quality chocolate because the taste of the bark depends totally on the type of chocolate you use. I would highly recommend using chocolate and not chocolate chips here. Chocolate chips do not melt as well as the chocolates does.

Method

* Line a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

* Chop the white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate. Place the white chocolate in a bowl and set aside.

* Melt the white chocolate using double boiler method or in the microwave.

* For double boiler method place bowl on top of a pan of simmering water (not boiling) and whisk the chocolate till completely melted. If using microwave stir the chocolate every 15 seconds till completely melted.

* Add crushed peppermint candy to the melted white chocolate and mix.

* Also met the semi-sweet chocolate side by side.

* Pour the melted chocolate-peppermint mixture onto the prepared pan and spread it into a thin layer using a spatula.

* Now pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate randomly over the white chocolate.

* Take a spatula or knife and run it through the the pan to form a marble effect/design.

* You first go length wise and then go side wise. Keep doing till you are happy with the final look. Sprinkle crushed candy canes ton top.

* Place the pan in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or till completely set.

* Once set, break into pieces of different shapes and size.

* I like to keep the barks in the refrigerator but you don't have to.
