The preparation time for Tandoori Aloo Tikka is approximately 30 minutes, and the cooking time is approximately 20 minutes.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 cup thick yogurt (hung curd)
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
2 tablespoons Tandoori masala
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Chaat masala for sprinkling
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Lemon wedges for serving
Method
- Cut the boiled potatoes into bite-sized cubes and set them aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, Tandoori masala, lemon juice, oil, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well to make a smooth marinade.
- Add the potato cubes to the marinade and gently coat them with the mixture. Ensure all the potato cubes are evenly coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat a grill pan on the stovetop.
- If using an oven, place the marinated potato cubes on a greased baking tray. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping them once halfway through, until they are golden brown and slightly charred.
- If using a grill pan, thread the marinated potato cubes onto skewers and grill them over medium heat, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have a slight char on the edges.
- Once cooked, remove the Tandoori Aloo Tikka from the oven or grill pan.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala and fresh coriander leaves over the tikka for added flavor and garnish.
- Serve the Tandoori Aloo Tikka hot with lemon wedges on the side.
