Signs You Are Becoming A Bad Boss

No one wants to be a bad boss. We all aspire to be inspirational and fun leaders that everyone can look up to. But, situations can force you to become an uptight, grumpy and cruel manager. Feeling stuck in your role as a leader can also be one of the causes why you’re being a really bad manager at work. So, we bring to you some signs that’ll help you identify if you’re slowly turning into a difficult boss.
#You prefer to have an employee who knows it all
You want to benefit from employees who should always know information beforehand. And if they don’t, you don’t waste time branding them as incompetent.
By doing this, you do not leave your employees the scope to learn. In case of any shortcomings, you think that it’s better to face the employee with their inability than fixing the problem.
#You utter ‘No’ more often
With time, you prefer sticking to the old rules than coming up with creative dimensions for a better, productive work rule.
And so, you find it easier to reject your employees or other colleagues’ new ideas and so, you spout constant NOs. This also demoralises your team’s spirit about not embracing new ideas and creativity.
#You think your presence in the workplace is unmatched
You wear your badge as the team leader a bit too proudly, which can lead to egotistical clashes in the workplace. If someone does a better job than you, you just can’t tolerate it and will indulge in unhealthy competition between colleagues.
you accept that, others can manage better than you at times, your ego will continue to hit the roof.
#You don’t allow emotions to interfere
Heavy and tense workdays can take a toll on the mind. Some people take time to recover from it and others find it incredibly difficult to be professionally present when their personal life is a mess.
Being a productive leader, it is your job to understand and support your employees mentally. Lending subtle advice can do others good, but you’re just not helpful enough to hand out free advice.
# You play favorites
Once you develop hunches about certain people in the workplace, you stick to that. You respect and consider their decisions and suggestions a lot more than others.
A good leader never supports favouritism and partiality in the office, let alone go by it. It will only arise feelings of resentment within others.
# You try your best to stop the distractions at workplace
You’ll find yourself looking for every opportunity to stop your employees from wasting their time and focusing all their energy on work, every second, minute and hour of their day. Successful managers have always tried their best to keep their employees motivated and encouraged to work.
If long coffee breaks or small chit chat during work hours can help them produce work in a much efficient manner, then why stop them?
