The Pros And Cons Of Being A YouTuber For Today's Youth

What a strange world we live in today. In this world, a 6-years-old can make $11 million a year reviewing toys in front of the camera. According to research, nearly 75% of modern kids want to become YouTube vloggers. Being popular on YouTube is the new kind of Fame -it is something parents should think about before allowing their kids to star on YouTube. Fame is about recognition, money, and opportunities, but it is just as much about public criticism, loss of privacy, and stress.

this is what modern kids want to be when they grow up. But, as experience confirms time and time again, they don't even need to grow up make this dream come true. Kids no longer dream about becoming athletes, doctors, or astronauts. Nor do they believe that traditional education is a must. In fact, most kids agree that if given a choice, they'd rather learn video editing than classic school subjects like history or mathematics. In the eyes of the modern youth, such a world might look like a dream come true.

However, there are many videos on the internet which can break anyone's self-esteem and confidence very easily. Especially the more academically inclined children, who took very hard to crack competitive exams and become something in life, may be very discouraged on seeing other peers become YouTube celebrities with a click of a button and having a number of 'followers' too!

If we look at the brighter side though. It is a great platform for this generation to share their talents without having to wait for the right opportunity to showcase what they have in them. YouTube has become their much needed platform to reach out to people globally without the need of any intermediary.

Being a young student and a user of technology (and YouTube) myself, I would like to state it is definitely a good opportunity for all of us but it is ultimately up to an individual himself/herself to decide whether to grab it. Also, we need to make sure that whatever we share through YouTube and such other sites, should in no way influence other people negatively. So, choose wisely folks!
