The world’s fastest man Usain Bolt is turning his hand to fast food and opening 15 restaurants with some “real Jamaican vibes” across the UK. Authentic Jamaican cuisine such as janga soup, jerk pork, pan chicken, rice and peas, rum barbecue wings and a variety of meat and fish crock pot dishes will be on the menu— along with Bolt’s speciality, “burgers à la Usain”, or U-burgers.
Bolt, who holds the 100m and 200m world records, is a partner in the Jamaican franchise company Franjam. The company has signed a deal with the SME Group to launch the restaurants across the UK within five years. “I’m happy to be able to share a taste of the Jamaica that I know and love with the rest of the world through the opening of these restaurants across the UK,” said Bolt. “London has always been a special place for me [and this] is giving us the opportunity to share our vision and our culture with you all.”
