Major Road Accident On Agra-Lucknow Expressway In Kannauj: 5 Doctors Killed, One Injured

A tragic road accident occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district, claiming the lives of five doctors and leaving one person critically injured. The accident happened when a high-speed Scorpio car (UP 80 HB 0703) lost control, broke through the divider, and collided with a truck (RJ 09 CD 3455) coming from the opposite direction.

Doctors from Saifai Medical College Among Victims

The five deceased were doctors working at Saifai Medical College. They were returning to Saifai from Lucknow when the accident took place near the 196 km mark in the Tirva Kotwali area.

The fatal crash occurred around 3:43 AM on Wednesday. According to initial reports, the driver of the Scorpio likely fell asleep, causing the vehicle to veer off its lane, break through the divider, and enter the opposite carriageway. The collision with the truck was so severe that the car was completely mangled.

Upon receiving information about the accident, police rushed to the scene. The injured person was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem.
