Apple, the tech giant, introduced its highly anticipated iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus during its "Wonderlust" event on Tuesday, featuring USB-C type charging.
As reported by The Verge, an American technology-oriented website, all versions of the iPhone 15 will incorporate the Dynamic Island, which is the pill-shaped cutout initially introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. This feature provides a novel way to view specific notifications and engage with applications. The iPhone 15 boasts an OLED Super Retina display that supports Dolby Vision content and offers a brightness of 1,600 nits. Furthermore, in sunlight, the display reaches a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, twice that of the iPhone 14.
One of the most noticeable enhancements to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, in addition to the visible USB-C and Dynamic Island updates, is the improved camera system. The primary camera sensor has been upgraded to 48 megapixels from the previous 12-megapixel sensor found in the iPhone 14. Additionally, there is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and improvements to the portrait mode eliminate the need for manual switching to portrait mode, as stated in The Verge's report.
The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 15 Plus sports a 6.7-inch display. Pricing for the iPhone 15 starts at USD 799 (approximately 67,000 INR) for the 128GB model, while the iPhone 15 Plus begins at USD 899 (approximately 74,000 INR) for the 128GB variant.
Apple is also touting "all-day battery life" for the iPhone 15, thanks to a larger battery. Additionally, the iPhone 15 includes a second-generation ultra-wideband chip, similar to the new Apple Watch Series 9. This enhances connectivity with devices at a greater distance and enables precise locating in Find My, making it easier to find friends who have the latest iPhone 15 models, according to The Verge.
