Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing the Mhara Haryana-Non Stop Haryana Jan Ashirwad rally in the Kalayat assembly constituency, sharply criticized the previous Congress government led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gears up to contest the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, aiming for a third consecutive term, CM Saini did not hold back in his condemnation of the Congress's decade-long rule.
During his speech, CM Saini accused the Congress government of fostering an environment of fear and corruption during their 10 years in power. He stated, "The ten years of Congress were full of terror in every respect," reflecting his belief that the Congress administration was detrimental to the state's progress and well-being.
Allegations of Dalit Oppression and Recruitment Sabotage
CM Saini further alleged that Dalit women faced significant oppression under the Congress regime, contrasting it with the BJP's efforts to improve law and order by establishing 33 new police stations across Haryana. He also accused Congress of deliberately hindering government recruitment in the state. Saini claimed that the Congress had formed a "recruitment stop gang" that obstructed government hiring processes by filing petitions with the Election Commission and the High Court.
The Chief Minister highlighted the BJP's efforts to secure jobs for 120,000 youth through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN), accusing Congress of creating obstacles whenever the BJP initiated recruitment drives.
Congress Accused of Spreading Lies and Promoting Nepotism
CM Saini didn't shy away from lambasting Congress for allegedly spreading lies and promoting casteism, nepotism, and corruption during its decade-long rule before 2014. He remarked, "Every minute of those ten years is accounted for," implying that the people of Haryana had rightly ousted the Congress government in the 2014 elections due to their mismanagement and dishonesty.
Crop Compensation Controversy
Highlighting the stark difference in governance, CM Saini criticized the Congress government for its inadequate compensation to farmers, citing instances where Congress issued cheques as low as Rs 2 each for crop damage. He contrasted this with the BJP's record of distributing Rs 13,000 crores in compensation to farmers over the past 10 years, compared to the Congress's Rs 1,100 crores during their tenure. He emphasized that while the Congress deposited only Rs 2 daily into farmers' accounts, the BJP has ensured a daily deposit of Rs 2,000.
As the Haryana Assembly Elections approach, the BJP, under CM Naib Singh Saini's leadership, is determined to hold the previous Congress government accountable and present their achievements to secure a third consecutive term in power.
