Man Slits 80-year-old Mother’s Throat, Sits Beside Dead Body For Hours Before Surrendering To Police

The MHB Colony police have arrested a 53-year-old man for killing his 80-year-old mother. The 53-year-old Borivli resident after slitting his mother’s throat he sat with her body for hours before turning himself into the police.

According to Mid-Day, the accused have been identified as Yogesh Ramakant Shenoy (53). The incident took place around 2 am on Thursday, after a quarrel between Yogesh Shenoy and his mother erupted. A police official told the leading, “At the time of going to bed, Yogesh tried to kill his mother by giving her an overdose of sleeping pills. But, after a few hours, he was shocked to see his mother awake. So he tried to smother her with a pillow but this attempt failed too.”

Yogesh Shenoy’s mother was a blood pressure and spondylosis patient. The two of them lived together in a chawl in Borivli. Shenoy is estranged from his wife, and his father and brother passed away a few years ago. When Lalita survived both these attempts, Shenoy slit her throat with a paper cutter. But having killed her, Shenoy sat next to her dead body until 9.30am, when he called the police control room to turn himself in. The police have arrested Yogesh Shenoy and booked him for murder. The cops have also recovered the murder weapon and Yogesh Shenoy has confessed to the crime.
