Monsoon Session- Ahead Of No-confidence Motion, 6 Rebel BJP MPs On Oppositions Radar

The BJP too has ‘difficult’ MPs within its ranks – the likes of Shatrughan Sinha and Kirti Azad – the two lawmakers from Bihar. It also has to reckon with those who are ‘upset’ with the party for various reasons, such as Savitri Bai Phule, Ashok Dohre, Chhote Lal and Rajkumar Saini. It would have been interesting to see which way these MPs vote, especially those who are on the radar of the Opposition.

The BJP, however, is taking no chances and has decided to invoke the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution that empowers it to disqualify anybody not voting for the government. Sinha was the first to fall in line: he set the speculation at rest by stating he will vote against the motion. “I haven’t left BJP and the party hasn’t left me. As long as I’m in the BJP, I’ll support it and follow every whip,” Sinha told news agency ANI.
