Many times, Indian political leaders make faults while talking about mythology and this time, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While wishing people for Durga Ashtami, Modi took to Twitter and wrote, “Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami. May Maa Durga fulfil everyone’s aspirations, further the atmosphere of joy and eliminate all evil from our society”, however, instead of goddess Durga he shared a photo of goddess Kali. In the picture, PM Modi was offering players to an idol of goddess Kali.
This made Twitter users mocking him by saying that PM doesn’t even know the difference between the idols of Durga and Kali. Some people also said that the picture which Modi shared was from his 2015 visit to Dakshineshwar Temple near Kolkata.
While some users made fun of PM Modi, some others supported him by saying that both the goddesses are symbol of power. Have a look at some of the tweets.
Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami. May Maa Durga fulfil everyone’s aspirations, further the atmosphere of joy and eliminate all evil from our society.
