Ahmadabad, the 3rd Fastest Growing City amongst the World. It is also the 7th largest city of India. Popularly known as, ‘City of Hearts’, ‘Food Kingdom’. Spread in around 464 square kilometers of area has a very rich heritage. The Heritage city that provokes tourists to visit with zeal. Ahmadabad is surrounded by River Sabarmati and 3 lakes. The city has a very good quality, that it is best suited for all age of people. Tourists don’t have to particularly look up for the places of attraction.The sole metropolitan city without any metro. But the metro is being replaced by the Ahmadabad Municipal Transport Service Buses
The rich heritage of Ahmedabad reckons both Hindu as well Muslim cultures. The skillfully carved, worldwide recognized for its splendor, Sidi Sayed Mosque, is one of the most prominent mosques in the Ahmedabad city. The city has a circular lake constructed in 1451 by Sultan-Qutubub-Din known as Kankaria Lake. It has many public attractions like zoo, toy train, kid’s city, tetheredballoon ride, water rides and Water Park, food stalls and entertainment facilities.
In the last week of December a week long Kankaria Carnival is held in which many cultural, art and social activities are held. On a quite stretch of Sabarmati River is the Gandhi Ashram. It is been named after the holy river Sabarmati. This is no longer a working Ashram rather a museum and an institution whose aim is to preserve and propagate the legacy of the Mahatma. Not only Indian but foreign tourists come to particularly visit this place.18 km to the North of Ahmedabad is a beautifully chiseled step well, Adalaji Vav, is one of the oldest preserved and well-maintained heritage. Calico Museum of Textiles, Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya, Gujarat Science City, Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Sanskar Kendra, Moti Shahi Mahal,and Swaminarayan Museum are all under Ahmedabad’s attractions. 60 km away from the city is Modhera, a holy place famous for Surya Mandir.
Food and Culture of the city also contributesin maintaining its Dignity. It has a thriving culture.Uttarayan is one the popularly celebrated occasion. Nine night of Navratri with GARBA (folk dance of Gujarat) exuberates one’s soul. Decoration of floors with Rangoli on Diwali, annual Rath Yatra procession on the Ashadh-Sudh-Bij and many more festivals are celebrated joviality.
Ahmadabad, as we know is a Food Kingdom has a special feature. It has the 1st All-Vegetarian Pizza-Hut opened there. Phaphada, Undhayan forms the integral part of the breakfast. The city is famous for its production of Ice-Cream (Havmore), so you cannot leave without tasting one. The Typical Gujarati Thali consisting of roti, daal, rice and Shaak (cooked with vegetables, sometimes served with curry) with accompaniments of pickles and roasted papad scrumptious one. The city is a Mango destination, and that’s why it has its mango famous all over India. Apart from mango, Ghari is the most demanded sweet dish.
Along with these it has many famous pub, disc and restro with add a nice essence to the tour of people. Famous amongst the long list are; Barista Espresso Bar, Karma Rest-o-lounge, Disco Pan Bar, Fruitious, Tryst and Unplugged Café and Grill. Ahmedabad is full of Wow factors. It is just that one cannot provide you with everything but surly they can encourage to you witness the real beauty.
