IPad Mini 7 Expected To Launch This Month

Following the launch of the iPhone 16 series last month, Apple is reportedly gearing up to introduce additional hardware products this month. Rumors suggest that the iPad Mini series will receive a refresh, with a potential launch coinciding with the iOS 18.1 announcement later in October. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the event is slated for October 28, although Apple has yet to confirm the exact date and time. While the iPad Pro was updated earlier this year, both the entry-level iPads and iPad Mini are likely to receive updates. At this event, Apple may unveil the iPad Mini 7th generation alongside the 11th generation iPad.

The upcoming iPad Mini is expected to retain its 8.3-inch display and the design of the sixth generation. However, Apple might address the "jelly scrolling" issue by adjusting the screen assembly to mitigate noticeable lag during vertical scrolling in portrait mode, thereby enhancing the user experience. Mark Gurman has indicated that Apple is also working on reducing production costs for the entry-level iPads, though significant design changes are not anticipated. The updated iPad Mini will likely feature incremental improvements, refining the user experience while maintaining its successful compact design.

The iPad Mini 7 is expected to continue using A-series processors instead of the M-series chips found in the iPad Pro and iPad Air. It may be equipped with either the A17 Pro chip from the iPhone 15 Pro or the A18 chip from the iPhone 16. The device may adopt color options inspired by the iPad Air, including blue, while discontinuing the pink variant. The traditional colors of space grey, starlight, and purple are expected to remain.

Apple might also upgrade the iPad Mini's front-facing camera by repositioning it to the landscape edge, similar to the latest iPad Air. This design change aims to improve video calling, particularly in landscape mode. Additionally, the camera may feature HDR 4 support for better contrast and color accuracy, as well as a wider aperture for enhanced low-light performance.

The iPad Mini 7 is anticipated to support the Apple Pencil Pro, which includes features like squeeze gestures, haptic feedback, Find My integration, and potential hover functionality. This compatibility enhancement will improve creativity, productivity, and precision, making the iPad Mini 7 well-suited for digital artists, note-takers, and professionals.

Expected Price of iPad Mini 7th Gen

The starting price is expected to remain at $499, with storage potentially increasing to 128GB, providing more value without a price hike. In India, the projected price is around Rs 45,900.
