Here Is Why You Should Wait To Update Apple MacOS Sequoia 15

Just a week ago, Apple launched its newest macOS update, macOS Sequoia 15, alongside iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. However, according to a recent report from TechCrunch, macOS Sequoia is encountering problems with various security tools, including well-known options like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft.
Currently, it remains unclear whether the issues stem from macOS Sequoia itself or from the security tools that have not yet been updated. Many Mac users are reporting difficulties with their devices, especially related to web browsing (specifically on Firefox) and other network functions.
In a Slack channel, a CrowdStrike sales engineer expressed, “I’m very sorry to report that we will not be supporting Sequoia on day one, despite our intention (and previous track record) to support the latest OS within hours of General Availability,” and also issued a technical alert to customers regarding the situation.
Numerous posts on Reddit indicate that Mac users utilizing CrowdStrike security who upgraded to macOS Sequoia are experiencing problems loading websites, with the only workaround being to disable the Falcon network filter.
As of now, Apple has not responded to TechCrunch’s inquiry about these issues. In addition to CrowdStrike users on Mac, customers using other security solutions like SentinelOne, ESET, and Microsoft Defender are also facing similar challenges.
This situation arises just months after a significant outage affected Microsoft PCs running CrowdStrike endpoint security. If you’re a Mac user with an endpoint security solution, it may be wise to hold off on updating to macOS Sequoia for a few more weeks, particularly if it’s your work machine.
